DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING ANIMALS [1] The present invention relates to a device for supporting animals, in particular animals suffering from trauma or pathologies resulting in total or partial inability to move and / or lift. [2] Within the framework of the practice of veterinary medicine, it is frequent to be confronted with pathologies causing a total or partial incapacity to move as well as to take up. The larger and heavier the animal, the more likely it is to experience this type of problem. Indeed, the heavier and more voluminous an animal, the more complicated it will be for him to cope with locomotor difficulties. When he is too tired and / or suffers too much to compensate by leaning on his other members, he ends up lying down and lying down and since he is unable to get up he can no longer eat nor hydrate. It therefore weakens considerably; pressure sores appear following immobility and the animal degenerates despite the care taken. It is often necessary to euthanize the animal. [3] There are different techniques for rehabilitating heavy animals. It is notably known to place the animal in a swimming pool. This technique is relatively costly in time and energy and complicated to implement. It is difficult to put an animal weighing 800 kg or more in the pool. This technique requires significant external means such as elevators, hoists, water temperature control, etc. Furthermore, it is not suitable for all conditions. [4] We still know the harness. The principle is simple: lift the animal using a harness fitted with straps in order to make it walk again. This device is 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 quite difficult to use and the results are often disappointing because it is not suitable for all animals. The adjustment of the straps is delicate and the tight straps which hold the animal tend to lacerate and cut the vascularization. Furthermore, the risk of animals falling due to a slipping strap cannot be completely eliminated. [5] We still know the hip clip generally used in cattle. This includes two metal poles connected together by a rigid linkage which allows the clamping of the poles. This technique also requires a handling device and it is traumatic for the animal because it raises all of its weight by the hips while the pelvis is not designed to undergo traction. Falls are frequent as well as bedsores and other trauma caused by the clamp. [6] Document GB-2106183 describes an animal lifting device, which includes an airbag 1, a stabilization frame 2 and a harness 3 to be passed over and around the animal. The airbag can take various forms that accommodate the general shape of the animal to be supported, such as a depression intended to receive the udder of a cow. The stabilization frame has the shape of a cross, the branches of which extend far beyond the base of the airbag in order to give stability to the latter, in particular when it is inflated. The harness has two branches, one which passes over said animal and the other which passes around the front or rear legs by forming a loop. The document also provides that harness branches can also form loops around an individual leg. This known device, however, presents problems of stability and installation. Through 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 elsewhere, the animal is connected to the airbag by a harness. However, placing a harness on the animal is difficult to achieve, especially when the animal is lying down; which is generally the case. In addition, the harness tends to injure the animal. [7] Recently, document FR-3039968 discloses a lifting device which comprises an inflatable mattress provided with holes intended for the passage of the legs of the animals, and a harness intended to be mounted on the animal to be treated and connected to the inflatable mattress by straps. It has nevertheless appeared in practice that the placement of the harness on the animal is difficult to achieve since the animal is generally lying down during the intervention. In addition, the passage of the harness takes place in fragile and sensitive regions of the animal, since they are very vascular and innervated, and the harness risks injuring the animal. [8] Document US-4491089 describes an animal lifting device comprising a mattress provided with holes corresponding to each of the legs of the animal to be supported, said mattress comprising front and rear notches to facilitate the removal of the mattress when the animal is standing. However, given the arrangement of the holes and the notches, it is necessary to completely deflate the mattress before it can be removed. [9] In view of the above, there is a great need for an animal lifting device which makes it possible to maintain the animals in a standing position, while relieving the load-bearing members. [10] Another object of the invention is to provide a lifting device for animals which improves the well- 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 to be from the animal as well as the safety conditions, in the event of partial or total incapacity to move and / or remove the animal. [11] Another object of the invention consists in providing a lifting device which makes it possible to limit the risks of complications linked to locomotor disabilities while increasing the chances of recovery of the animal. [12] Another object is to provide a lifting device for animals, which allows the administration of care, and which facilitates the movement of the animal either by itself or by an operator. [13] According to the invention, the lift device comprises an inflatable mattress provided with a bore intended for the passage of the front legs of the animal to be supported and a bore intended for the passage of the hind legs of said animal, said inflatable mattress comprising a lateral notch on the height of the inflatable mattress at the level of said holes. [14] The inflatable mattress can be used with or without a strap on the animal to be treated. In the case of strapping the animal to the lifting device, it is necessary to provide attachment points, for example eyelets, on the upper face of the inflatable mattress, near a straight line connecting the ends lateral on the same side of the holes; that is to say in fact, along the sides of the animal on which said inflatable mattress is threaded. [15] One can also simply provide one or more belts attached to the inflatable mattress, which can then be tightened on the animal to be treated. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 [16] The inflatable mattress of the invention advantageously comprises at the front a means of attaching a collar passed around the neck of the animal to be treated. This means of fixing the inflatable mattress to the animal to be treated makes it possible to keep the animal and mattress in line, despite the movements of the animal to be treated. [17] The device of the invention is distinguished by its ease of use: the uninflated mattress is put on the lying animal and it is simply inflated to the desired height. The presence of lateral notches, namely in the part which runs along the sides of the animal notably facilitates this operation without disturbing the animal too much. The use of lateral inflation valves allows the mattress to be inflated while keeping the animal in balance, even without straps, by managing the inflation via the various valves. [18] In some cases, the presence of straps may be preferred, thus facilitating the recovery of the animal to be treated. Thanks to the straps connecting the animal to the inflatable mattress, the animal straightens easily. For example, in the case of a 500 kg animal lying down, two people are enough to lift the animal and strap it safely, without using a tractor or lifting gear. The operation takes about 10 minutes and once straightened in the inflatable mattress, the animal is in a comfortable position and regular monitoring is sufficient, without it having to be continuous. [19] Thanks to the presence of lateral notches on the height of the inflatable mattress, it is easy to remove the mattress after use. In the case of inflatable mattresses of the state of the art, they should be completely deflated in order to allow the animal to move on the deflated mattress on the ground, with the risk of 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 degradation of the envelope of the inflatable mattress. The inflatable mattress of the invention can be removed laterally after partial deflation, the animal being upright. The partial deflation allows the spacing of the faces or lips of each notch for the passage of the legs of the animal in the standing position. In the inflated state, the faces or lips of the notches are brought together by the pressure prevailing inside the inflatable mattress. If necessary, means may be provided for connecting the faces of the notches, such as for example tightening straps. [20] The device of the invention can be used whatever the location of the pathology, both in the forelimbs and in the hind limbs, but also whatever the species, bovine or equine, and whatever the sex . [21] At a time when more and more importance is given to the welfare of the animal, the use of such a device finds all its meaning. It allows the animal to remain in physiological position with real comfort. Handling is reduced and the risks that result are limited. [22] Such a device allows real rehabilitation over time, with a succession of daily improvements bringing back to a normal state. When we consider that in 99% of the cases an animal lying down for more than three days is euthanized, this device is a real progress. [23] For the comfort and well-being of the animal, it is advantageous that the holes passing through the inflatable mattress have suitable shapes. Advantageously, the bore intended for the front legs is of essentially rectangular or elliptical shape. The hole for the hind legs is advantageously adapted to release 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 space for the udders of female animals and / or the sexual organs of male animals, while allowing the movements of the limbs while providing effective support simultaneously for the belly and the hips and buttocks. Indeed, certain movements of the limbs must remain possible in order to allow the animal to stand up. [24] According to an advantageous embodiment, the bore intended for the rear members has an essentially diamond-shaped shape. This form of piercing is suitable for both sexes; on the one hand, it makes it possible to prevent lesions in the udders; on the other hand, it is also an advantage for males by allowing them to urinate, otherwise they may experience kidney blockage, kidney stones or bladder rupture. [25] According to an advantageous embodiment of the device of the invention, it may include eyelets for passage of straps which allow the lifting of the inflating mattress loaded with an animal. The straps pass in particular on the sides and under the inflated mattress. [26] It is also possible to provide eyelets on the front face, allowing the passage of straps intended for pulling the device, including the animal. This arrangement allows the movement of animals even when they are housed in the device of the invention. [27] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the floor area of the borehole or holes is greater than the surface of the hole (s) on the upper surface of the mattress, that is to say the point d entry of the legs of the animal to be supported. This embodiment facilitates the movement of the animal on its own. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 [28] Advantageously, the volume of the front part (seen in the direction in which the animal is supported) of the device of the invention is at least equal to the rear part of the device, preferably greater than this latest. In fact, 60% of the weight of the bovine or equine animal rests on the front legs and only 40% on the hind legs. In order to guarantee the balance of the animal, in particular during the recovery, the device must be able to support the various loads without endangering the animal, and this during the establishment and during the period of convalescence, even in the standard living conditions of the animals in question, such as a sloping meadow. [29] The invention will be described in more detail below, in support of the figures in which: [30] Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of the inflatable mattress of the device of the invention; and [31] Figure 2 is a schematic perspective view of a device supporting a bovine. [32] In the figures, identical reference marks refer to identical or similar elements. [33] In Figure 1 there is an inflatable mattress in the inflated state 1 which has two holes 3 and 5 for the passage of the legs of animals intended to be carried by the device. The piercing 3 is intended for the front legs of an animal to be treated and the piercing 5 for the hind legs. Note that the front hole 3 has an essentially rectangular shape and that the hole 5 has a diamond-like shape which frees the udders or the sexual organ and allows certain movements of the hind legs during straightening. The inflatable mattress has 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 still side notches 7 and 9 on the height or thickness of the inflatable mattress, that is to say on the side of one side of the animal. The mattress can be inflated using a valve 8 for example which can be connected to a pressurized air generator. [34] The volume of the front part 11 is greater than the volume of the rear part 13 so that the device can support the animal in a balanced manner. [35] The inflatable mattress 1 also advantageously comprises a belt 21 secured to the inflatable mattress at the attachment point 22. This belt makes it possible to link the inflatable mattress to the animal to be treated. [36] In addition, a means of fixing a collar 23 has also been provided which makes it possible to link the mattress to the animal in any balance. [37] In the embodiment shown, there are provided in addition emergency relief valves 17, 18 and 19, allowing the pressure to be released quickly if necessary. [38] Figure 2 shows how the animal to be treated is supported by the device of the invention. In order to connect the inflatable mattress to the animal, there are provided, as a variant, eyelets 31, 33, 35 and 37 provided on the upper face of the inflating mattress 1, on each side of the animal, approximately on a connecting line the lateral ends of the front and rear holes, along the sides of the animal to be supported. These eyelets are intended to receive straps 32, 34, 66 and 38 which pass over the back of the animal, fixing the device of the invention to the animal while reducing the risk of injury. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 [39] In order to allow the lifting of the assembly, animal plus inflated mattress, it is possible to pass straps under the mattress and join them above it, to a lifting machine. Eyelets 41, 43 and 45, on each side of the mattress, facilitate the passage of the straps 42, 44 and 46. [40] If necessary, the inflatable mattress can also be deflated in order to facilitate the movement of the animal suspended therein. In this case, it is advantageous for the material which constitutes the vertical walls of the inflatable mattress to be elastic or retractable using springs or the like. It follows that the mattress is suspended from the animal by means of straps or one or more belts; the animal gains freedom of movement; the mattress can be re-inflated at any time to support and relieve the animal. [41] To release the animal from its inflatable mattress, it suffices to undo the straps or belts and collars, to partially deflate the said mattress and to withdraw it laterally. The partial deflation allows the lips of the notches 7 and 9 to move apart during the passage of the legs of said animal. It is understood that the particular arrangement of the two notches on the same lateral side of the mattress and 'opening' each of the holes is particularly advantageous to facilitate this operation. [42] It is understood that the device has dimensions such that it can be used for as many animals as possible. Its width can advantageously be 180 cm in order to be able to enter a conventional livestock trailer or in the corridors of stables or in stables. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 [43] A strap can also be provided at the front of the device of the invention in order to be able to tow the device loaded with an animal. [44] In order to allow the use of the device of the invention on the greatest number of animals which are distinguished in particular by size, it is advantageous to provide the inflatable mattress in two stages of inflatable chambers. [45] The invention will be better understood on reading specific application examples. It is understood that these examples are given by way of illustration and are far from being limiting. [46] Example 1: Milk fever: [47] The cow suffers from hypocalcemia, particularly following parturition. She is unable to get up, staggers and eventually goes to bed without being able to get up. Unsuccessful recovery attempts cause fractures, sores, nerve and muscle damage. The device of the invention makes it possible to place the animal in safety as long as it receives the necessary veterinary care and thus avoid complications and reduce pain. [48] Example 2: Hypophosphoremia: [49] Phosphorus deficiency has many similarities to the hypocalcemia mentioned above and is one of the regular complications. The advantage of the device of the invention is as described in Example 1. As this kind of pathology often occurs in summer, when the animals are in the meadow, it is important to be able to transfer them to a place more conducive to treatment. The device of the invention makes it possible to lift the animal on the mattress or to pull the mattress when the animal is housed there. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 If you want to prevent the animal from touching the ground with its legs, simply increase the inflation of the mattress. [50] Example 3: Hypomagnesia: it is a tetanus syndrome of the cow; the device of the invention overcomes it in a similar manner to what has been described above. [51] Example 4: Traumatic parturition: [52] It is frequent, during parturition, to be faced with inflammations of the genital tract, the pelvis and the nerves which run through it, with as a consequence paralysis of the hind limbs which can take weeks before subsiding . In this kind of situation again, the device of the invention makes it possible to maintain the animal in a physiological position while motor recovery takes place, avoiding complications following the deep numbness of the limbs or the appearance of bedsores. [53] Example 5: Sciatica syndrome: [54] It is a traumatic pathology encountered in large animals which tend to slide on slippery floors by making a "large gap" with the hind limbs; which results in paralysis of one or both hind limbs. The device of the invention makes it possible to relieve the animal the time necessary for recovery. [55] Example 6: Septicemic shocks: [56] These are pathologies regularly encountered in farms in the northern hemisphere and they follow mastitis or metritis (infection of the uterus) and cause states of intense stress in animals. Even if 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 we manage to stop the evolution of the disease, the complications are important: hypocalcemia, appearance of bedsores and various wounds; and it is often necessary to euthanize the animal. As explained in the context of the previous examples, the device of the invention makes it possible to shelter the animal and provide the necessary care while avoiding complications. [57] Example 7: fractures: [58] Unfortunately, some fractures cannot be absorbed using a plaster or a splint. The device would keep the injured animal in a physiological situation, and this the time necessary for bone resorption, while often euthanasia is the only solution. [59] Example 7: Laminitis: [60] It is an acute inflammation of the foot, extremely painful which can lead to rapid euthanasia so severe the pain is. The device of the invention makes it possible to maintain the animal in a physiological position without it touching the ground with its aching limbs, and this the time to control the inflammation. [61] Example 8: Osteoarthritis: [62] It is a degenerative disease of the joint tissues and which is exacerbated by more or less long and more or less painful crises. It is generally treated by the administration of anti-inflammatory drugs. In this case also, the device of the invention makes it possible to relieve the animal the time necessary to obtain the effects of the treatment, and to limit the complications due to a prolonged lying position. 2019/5221 BE2019 / 5221 [63] Example 9: transport of injured animals: [64] The transport of injured animals is often done in difficult and uncomfortable conditions for the animal, often traumatic. The device of the invention makes it possible to reduce the stress suffered by the animal as well as the injuries linked to this kind of situation. Example 10: Post-operative conditions: [65] After general anesthesia, the recovery phase is particularly difficult to manage, especially following the animals' lack of balance. The device of the invention makes it possible to limit the complications. [66] Example 11: Contention in the field: [67] It is normal in the life of a practitioner in the field to be called for colicky horses. During these interventions, the practitioner is obliged to carry out a specific examination which is extremely dangerous, since he is not immune to a kink. [68] Example 12: Post-operative conditions: [69] Especially in the case of horses, after surgery, light or heavy, in the clinic or in the field, the recovery phase is generally critical. The horse is still under the effect of anesthetics and, although it has not yet recovered all of its abilities, will try to get up on its own. He risks being injured with complications that can lead to euthanasia. The device of the invention makes it possible to reduce these risks.
